Ok, seriously

December 26th, 2007

I haven’t written a word here in forever because the comment spam has just been discouraging.  I’ve decided I’ve had enough of it and I’ve disabled comments.  I doubt they’ll be back, just so you know.

Gaah …

I’m going to go into withdrawls

June 6th, 2007

The certification for my new job is a 2 day test. It starts at around 8:30 on Thursday (time is available until 7:30 PM) and it can be picked up again at 7:30 the next morning (and can be worked on until 7 PM). The killer part is I’ve grown very fond of surfing the internet from the livingroom couch and the work laptop has to be left at work both Thursday night and over the weekend. Being without a laptop is going to throw me into techno-withdrawls.

Anyway, wish me luck on this test.

Oooh, cookies!

May 29th, 2007

These look fabulous!

I’ve been thinking about baking a lot lately. I think I may try and bake some bread next weekend (maybe the weekend after next) but I’ll have to see when I get a little time. On a different note, we got shelves up for one of the computer room walls, so that’s one down and two to go. It really looks like this’ll really help with the storage here.
Bah, it’s back to studying.

Um, yeah

May 18th, 2007

I’d forgotten how much I hate homework. Currently there’s system administration settings to review and I just don’t see much more of that happening tonight. I’ll work on it some more this weekend, but today was pretty meh so I’m not going to stress about it too much. I think tonight’s going to be some chamomile tea and mindless entertainment before bed.

Yeah, that sounds pretty good …

Home Reserve …

May 14th, 2007

The couch is really dying, so it looks like a couple pieces of Home Reserve Sectional lay waiting in the near future. One end of the couch is permanently somewhat reclined, except for the footrest, and neither footrest comes out any more. Same thing with the footrest on the reclining chair we have. The chair might be fixable, but the couch is so far beyond hope that I don’t think any starving college students would even steal it if we put it on the curb.

Ah well, c’est la vie. Laundry beckons and Greg’s cooking dinner (yummy homemade sloppy joes) so it’s back into the fray.

I’ve been remiss

May 12th, 2007

Greg got finished and I never posted the Save the Date cards. I’ve been fending off spam and we’re still unpacking. In fact we’ve got more stuff now than we had a month ago, but the stuff includes two dressers and a couple trunks, so there is now more storage for the stuff as well.

Anyway, on to the save-the-date cards that Greg made (which will be mailed soon!)

Anyone know how to block an ip address from posting with WordPress?

P.S. Greg’s working on the Save the Date card design as we speak!! There might actually be something to post soon.

Long time, no see

February 12th, 2007

I keep meaning to post things, but I usually don’t have time or don’t have anything to say. One of those situations where I think of stuff while I’m in the car, but by the time I’m anywhere near a computer it’s completely gone.

Let’s see here …

Called in to work because I felt like my forehead was going to explode when I woke up this morning. I then slept (off and on) until 3 p.m. I think the smoke at Henry Hudson’s on Saturday is what did me in. I know Greg still sounds like his throat is killing him, but he’s got a deadline on Wednesday so there’s no calling in for him.
Greg and I think we’ve got a ballpark idea for the save-the-date cards, more on that later.

I’m really tired of this overcast crap, it’s starting to get really depressing every time I look outdoors. I also wish it would warm up a little so that I would actually want to go outdoors for 2 minutes. I feel like my fingers are going to fall off every time the wind hits me (yes, I’m wearing gloves) and that makes it a little unappealing to “hang out” outside. I may wander down to 7-11 here in a little bit though, haven’t decided yet. It’s only 2 blocks or so.
As for the cards, we’ve agreed on fonts. There’s Mostra Bold and Blakely Light. The rest you will have to wait to see!

All Hail Tylenol

December 15th, 2006

I think I’ve found something to allow me to feel human again. Tylenol Sinus tablets and their Cough and Sore Throat syrup seem to work for me. I really need to start the nasal rinses again, but they aren’t the easiest thing to remember to do.

On a completely different note, I have grown to adore Big Ed’s Chicken Noodle Soup. It’s only available in the winter and it seems to stay hotter than the center of the sun, so it’s still tasty by the time you’ve finished your sandwich. Let us just say that lunch today was lovely.

As for this evening, hopefully I’ll be able to get Greg’s Christmas present purchased and wrapped tonight. Hopefully …

meh

December 12th, 2006

I feel crummy. I have for weeks and weeks at varying levels, but I’ve started coughing again so that’s bad. I may just go by an urgent care clinic and see what they can(‘t) do for me. I just wish I could breathe and that my throat didn’t feel rough all the time. It makes me worn down and exceedingly irritable and that isn’t good for anyone around me either.

A couple of people are talking about starting a weight-loss pool at work. It would start with the new year if it happens and I hope it does.

We got the Christmas tree assembled with minimal bloodshed last night, but it isn’t decorated yet. I’m hoping to get that done nice and early this evening because I like/need sleep and haven’t been getting enough lately.

Bah, time to get back to work.
